The healthcare computing platform of the future

Welcome to the openEHR network. We are in the middle of a huge transition in healthcare computing - moving from individual dreams and company aspirations to collective and more open efforts to achieve genuine benefit for all. The openEHR computing platform is a key development in this area - a comprehensive specification based on 15 years of European and Australian R&D.
This site is an effort to create a more cohesive social environment for our interactions. Lets make it work for us.

Hi all openEHR enthusiasts out there!

This network has been set up in the run up to the Medinfo conference (see Medinfo group), but is intended to be a permanent endeavour to make interaction between the openEHR interested people easy and fun.
At the moment it is Heather's and Thilo's responsibility to look after this site and we encourage you to comment and make suggestions. For instance it needs to be decided what offered facilities (blog, forum, rss, photos, videos, music,...) make sense to use while avoiding overlap with existing infrastructure (e.g. the openEHR mailing lists).

We are looking forward to seeing your pictures and checking out your contributions.

Thoughts on the conference

It was a good conference despite the rain. We hope everyone enjoyed the openEHR party - it was a great group of people. There is no doubt in my mind that openEHR will be part of the future of Electronic Health Records. It is, and I know this, a sophisticated and considered response to David Ingram's 'wicked' problem - the complexity of which will continue to be underestimated despite failing IT projects in Health.

It has rained all day from I reached Brisbane. It has been allways raining in my memorial days, class excursion, athletic festival, entrance ceremony of university, wedding....

I wanted to go to Zoo to watch Ausrarian animals, Kangaroo, Koara, Wombat and so on. I also wanted to go sight seeing in Uluru, Great Barrier Leaf, Austrarian great nature, but it is rain and I have no time to… Continue

Forth day(22/08/2007)

Today, I had my poster presentation.

Some people were interested in y preliminary implementation of de-centralized network system.

That system can link every healthcare provider by end-to-end secure pipe via peer-to-peer network.

Messaging among them is not standardised because HL-7.jp does not allow HL7 coding in open source software.

I think open standardisation has good synergy effect with open source software like the Internet progress.

I saw Dr. Ron Chen presentation… Continue

Third day(21/08/2007)

I met a lot of Japanese people today. I used Japanese after long time. Japanese people is tender for Japanese and tends to work in only Japanese community. I am challenging to go beyond the border that's why I am a member of open source software community.

I met a lot of worldwide people, Rong Chen, Chunlan Ma, Lincoln, Simon, Kiatake and so on. The night time party is very funny for me. I was facinated with Brisbane night view. I would like to come here in sunny days. It is raining every… Continue
